Charlie Card

Somewhere in late February i jumped and my feet haven't hit the ground until now. Well... i'm not sure i landed on my feet. It was more of a tuck and roll landing as i prepared for impact. Now you will probably see a return to regular entries.

Like everything else in my life, this past month has been a balance of extremes. Some amazing highlights and some tough lowlights.

As Fight Club teaches us, every so often you need to hit bottom to have that moment of enlightenment. You don't need to destroy everything in your life or blow up credit card buildings to get there though. Sometimes exhausting yourself over the period of a month will do it. For me it apparently takes bringing a 10+ year puke-free run to an end in a trashcan at the Central Square stop of the MBTA. Maybe it was a recycling barrel, i was recycling my breakfast after all.

i was reminded that although we are all one, and that all energy is connected, our own world goes no further than our own skin. No one else will ever fully know that world and no one will ever live in that world. We may be all one but we are also alone in that world. Sometimes we have just got to do what we have to do to make it in our own world.

If i can just remember that than perhaps i will be a bit more sympathetic to others who are just trying to make it through their own world. Sometimes though, people just need to find their own barrel and bend over.

Today's Word

i think "DRIVE" may be my favorite word. i do so love to drive. Drive cars, drive scooters, you name it i'll drive it. It also stands for determination. i am driven. i have drive.

On every level his word just works for me, unless you scramble up the letters to spell diver. i like to swim but am not much of a diver.

Many of my favorite bands have songs called Drive, or with drive in the title, or about driving. Strange how many songs titled "drive" are on my iPod. Stranger that it took me this long to have a favorite word.

Actually, my favorite word might be "THRA". Drive is a close second though.
