Yes indeed folks, i have witnessed the act which officially spelt out the downfall of American civilization. No it is not the recession. Not the war. Not the lack of a good candidate running for president. None of these. It is the new television show "My Dad Is Better Than Your Dad" or something to that effect.
Yup, kids who clearly aren't getting beaten up enough out on the playground are signing their fathers up for this completely non-athletic, Double-Dare like reality show. The kids re incredibly annoying, the dads lost their testicles years ago, and it's all hosted by Dan Cortez of MTV Sports fame. You know your show blows when the host that nobody cares about is embarrassed to do the press for the season opener. Embarrassing all around.
i have, however, found my new favorite ad campaign. It is a series of commercials for, i think, one of those online stock companies. It's a baby on a web-cam talking about how easy it is and how well he's doing with his stocks. In one, in the middle of talking he throws-up a little, as babies do from time to time (not while talking, as babies usually can not talk). i lost my shit upon seeing this. Really.
The second ad in the series (that i have seen) has a clown in the background, but just shot form about mid-chest down as the camera is adjusted for a baby sitting at a computer. What else would you expect, silly. The child talks of how he's doing so well he figured he'd treat himself to something nice so he rented a clown for the day. He did mention how he didn't think it would be as creepy as it was. Very clever ads, indeed.
