Oh Shuffle. Although i may curse Apple for inferior computers and this frustrating keyboard i am currently trying to use, i've got to admit my love affair with iPods. First for getting my entire music collection on something the size of a breath mint tin, and now for allowing me to snowboard with hours of music on something barely larger than my headphone plug. If it was any smaller i couldn't work the controls.
Oh my little Shuffle. i have named him Homer, after my childhood imaginary friend who also was tiny and went everywhere with me. i swear my Shuffle is real. So was Homer.

The Heartbeat Of America?
How stupid do they think we are? Alright, maybe Americans aren't all that bright, just look at our last presidential election, but really now. i think i have just seen the most insulting ad campaign EVER. Brought to you by the stumbling dinosaur of a company: Chevy (that's what they want to be called in these ads, are they trying to seem more hip?).
Ad #1 claims that 'Chevy' are working on "zero emission" vehicles. i'm sorry to disappoint you, Chevy, and California auto-efficiency standards but there is no such thing as unicorns, no such thing as the Loch Ness Monster, and no such thing as a zero emission vehicle.
Hydrogen fuel cells are NOT zero emission. First, they have a tailpipe. What comes out of that tailpipe? Water. Granted water is better than the current stuff coming out of our auto tailpipes but water is still an emission. Not only that but water vapor is in fact a greenhouse gas. Yes sir-e Bob boys and girls, water vapor is a greenhouse gas. i don't even feel the need to get into the pollution that would be spewed into our atmosphere to extract the hydrogen (the scariest being the Bush administration's concepts).
Electric vehicles are not currently zero emission vehicles either, although they potentially could be. You see, a majority of our electricity in this country is presently produced by burning coal (the dirtiest of all fossil fuels). There may be no emissions from the vehicle itself but there certainly are serious emissions from the fuel needed for these cars. Look at the number of cars on the road and imagine all the extra electricity we would have to produce to move that fleet.
If we were to produce our electricity with alternative methods which themselves have zero emissions then we would be achieving that zero emission status. If you had solar panels or a wind turbine (or both) on your garage and used that energy to plug in your car, then you are talking about a zero emission vehicle. Maybe we could even build some wind farms as well if only everyone didn't complain when you try to build one anywhere near them... but that is another entry all together.
This leads me to ad #2. Chevy claims they are working on an electric car that can go 40 miles without a drop of gas. What? Are they running said car on D batteries from the grocery store? Retarded monkeys with a RadioShack credit card could make an electric car that goes 40 miles on a charge. Maybe Chevy should hire some.
You can purchase electric cars that can go 250 miles per charge. Why would you try to develop one that goes 40? Especially considering that they themselves bought the rights to one of the best battery technologies for that purpose yet fail to use it (or let anyone else).
Chevy is like that idiot at the party that just won't admit that the shin-dig's over. Everyone's going home, the lights are all turned up, and the hosts are cleaning up yet they want to crack another beer open. Are they that dumb or do they just think that we are?

The Missing Link
Ah, what ever happened to Lance Link Super Chimp? i miss that little guy.
i digress... with the new year i figured i should change up my links. It also is an easy thing for me to do without having to type too much while my finger heals up.
First off is a cause i can stand behind... eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to help fight global warming. There really is no down side to this.
Good ol' Hank's website has been putting up monthly short videos of Heidi giving him shit. It doesn't matter how punk you are, girls are just intense critters that scare us all.
If you haven't heard yet, Matt Hensley (accordion player and skateboarder) has re-joined Flogging Molly. TWSkateboarding has a good little interview with him about it currently linked on their homepage (on the right side most of the way down). Not to mention you can always use a little skateboarding break while at work.
Lastly, i had to keep the Banksy link. Too good to get rid of yet.
The rants are backing up so discolored finger or not i'll be back on board soon with why Americans are still unable to pull off soccer and an investigation into if Lieberman is actually in-fact the Emperor Palpatine.

...it shouldn't look like that
Ahhh, Christmas Vacation is the movie of choice for the holiday season. In eleven more months we'll all be able to watch it again. Good pick all.
Thanks to a dislocated finger (now grossly black & blue) and two more sprained ones my entries have been few as of late, as seen by how long this one is taking me. i am single-handedly including this week's survey though.
2008, with all those beautiful curves... how do you think it will measure up and turn out?
