While taking care of bills this weekend all i could think of was THX. You see, THX 1138 was George Lucas's first film. In the movie our hero (Robert Duval) is trying to escape. As the movie builds to it's climax the police suddenly stop chase. In this future setting they have given a monetary value to every task. The chase of THX 1138 exceeded the budget value given to the task so they ended the chase.
As i looked over the copy of my medical bill that was sent to my insurance provider, i got thinking about what monetary value that futuristic society would put on my pinky finger. So far it's up to $982 and change. Oh, today's cost of $121 for a follow up visit to be told i now need to see a hand surgeon has put the medical cost above ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS. Do i now stop treatment?
Although my shaved head may lead one to believe that i would fit into that futuristic society, i kind of like the idea of being able to use my pinky again. Those silver-faced cops can go take a sedative and watch the beating channel. MY PINKY SHALL BE FREE ONCE AGAIN!
