Buddha's Delight

i think i may have finally found a reason to get into American Football. Despite the fact that soccer should rightfully be called football, despite the the fact that the players are all Neanderthals, despite the fact that players just do what the coaches/generals tell them too, despite the fact that two minutes on the clock can take two hours, despite... i could go on and on.

i thoroughly enjoy going to my local Chinese restaurant. Not only is the food reasonably priced, good tasting, and vegan-friendly, but i cannot express how much i enjoy interacting with the owner. He is absolutely amazing. i actually get sad if i pick up my food and he either is not their or is tied up doing something else. It is like getting home only to find out that you did not get a fortune cookie. The food just does not taste the same, but i find a way to eat it anyhow.

It all started with him commenting on my t-shirts, but then i started to think about what i was wearing to pick-up my food (not in a pick-up). Then came the discussions about where "my lady" was whenever i came in without her. Suddenly, out of nowhere, as fortune would have it (pun intended) a lotus blossom was dropped in my lap. His wife, rolling her eyes and shaking her head, clearly frustrated with him told me he loves the Patriots. BINGO!

Now when i see him i make some comment like 'gonna be a cold weekend for the game' or 'how about all those interceptions' and he gets sooo excited. Oh how i enjoy seeing my new buddy light up with happiness.

Shit, what am i going to do after the Super Bowl (are there 10 pins and rental shoes involved)? What will we talk about then? Will i have to switch to Italian food? Thank goodness i have a couple of weeks to work on that.
