Spring is such a great time for music, any music. Fall and winter require contemplative songs as you hunker down and summer screams up-beat with all that sun. Spring however dramatically fluctuates as you can go from near freezing temperatures and grey skies in the morning to mid 60's and sunshine by the time you leave work. A beautiful sunny day in the 70's can be followed by a week of rain. Because of this, any mood or genre of song seems to work.
Lately i've been listening to a lot of Animal Chin Radio (my iPod set to shuffle the 20 gigs worth of songs). Oh how fun it is, the best radio station EVER. i know that i won't hear a song i don't like. i wait with baited breath to see what is coming next. While grocery shopping Animal Chin Radio went from Kanye West to the Ramones to the Roots to the Ramones again to Moby to Gomez to Blink 182, etc. Where else are you going to have Walking Concert sandwiched between Saves The Day and Roni Size (that's indie rock 'tween emo and breakbeat). Sprinkle in a poem read by Jack Kerouac or a spoken word by Henry Rollins and you have a bit of the glorious spring samplings of Animal Chin Radio.
Wherever Animal Chin, the mythical creator of skateboarding, is hiding out these days he is doing one hell of a job putting together a radio program. Thank you again Animal Chin, for once again showing us the way.
